Non-Surgical Thread Lift

The dissolvable thread lift technique was developed as a safer, non-invasive but effective technique to combat aging and sagging skin.* The dissolvable threads are placed in the subcutaneous fat layer just beneath the skin where the lifting is desired.

The amount of lifting achieved is dependent on the number of threads used and the way they are placed underneath the skin.

Thread lift can be used for the treatment of:*

  • Face: forehead, cheek lift, mouth
  • Neck and chest
  • Body: arms, hands, knee rejuvenation, buttock lift

Benefits:*

  • Improves tone and elasticity of the skin
  • Skin lifting and rejuvenation by biostimulation (forms new collagen that has a tensor effect on the skin)
  • In office procedure
  • Minimally invasive (uses needles)
  • Safe, completely re-absorbable in 6-8 months
  • Reduced down time

Feel that the years are catching up with you and that your face skin is sagging or droopy? Looking into the mirror hopping that you can have firmer, lifted skin without any surgery or significant downtime?

Then, a non-surgical dissolvable thread lift is the answer. No one wants to have an overdone, windblown look that surgical facelifts tend to create but non-surgical thread lifts naturally lifts saggy skin without any scars or significant pain. It can reverse jowls and lift the deep folds of skin that form nasolabial folds or marionette lines, helping aging skin return to the youthful V shape face and taking 10 years off your face.*

FAQ

What is the Cost of the Thread lift?

The cost of the thread lift varies depending on the area being treated and the type and number of threads being used. The cost starts at $300. Please call our office to discuss the areas you are interested in treating and obtain accurate pricing.

How long does Thread Lift Last?

Thread lift can last for approximately 1 to 1.5 years, depending on your age, lifestyle, and facial movement patterns. As more collagen is produced over time, the results of the thread lift will also gradually become better and peak at approximately 6-9 months after the procedure. An advantage of the dissolving threads is that additional threads can be inserted at a later date if further lift procedures are required.

Is There Any Downtime?

Traditional face-lift surgeries are more invasive, and cause more trauma to the skin which requires more recovery time. As the dissolvable thread lift procedure is less invasive, patients generally see less swelling, and are normally able to return to work and social settings almost immediately.
In addition, as the dissolvable thread lift procedure does not involve any cutting of the skin, only topical or local anesthetic is required.
As the procedure is non-invasive, side effects are rare and you may experience some light bruising which will go away in a few days.
Depending on the area that lifting is desired, the thread lift procedure usually takes 30 minutes to an hour.

What are Some Customized Combined Procedures?

Our thread lift procedures can be combined with other aesthetics medical procedures at our clinic. The usual combination which produces extremely synergistic results is with:-
Thermage & Ultherapy (Radiofrequency & Ultrasound therapy). Thermage and Ultrasound treatments promote collagen remodeling and tightening, which enables the skin to look younger. Check out our Ultimate Facelift Package here.
Dermal Fillers. Sagging and loss of volume are the two most common signs of aging. Sagging can be resolved with the thread lift, whist the loss of volume can be corrected by using our dermal fillers. When combined, the effect of restoring youthfulness is synergistic.
Meso Dermal Lift with Botox. The reduction in facial muscle activity adds to the lifting effect for some. There is also a method of anti-wrinkle skin injection which tightens the skin at the sides of the face and of the brow and forehead by effecting skin contraction where the anti-wrinkle injection is applied. This adds significantly to the lifting effect and smoothening of the skin.

How does it work?

Thread lift works by regenerating the support layer of the skin (the dermis) by stimulating neo collagenases/ forming new collagen with a very natural appearance.*

The generation of mature collagen fibers improves the thickness and elasticity of the skin in the treatment area.* The newly formed tissue exerts a tensor effect on the skin, along the pathway of the inserted thread.

The thread is placed with the help of a needle , in such a manner that it cannot move in either way

As we age, our facial skin support structure weakens and we lose facial fat, especially around the cheeks, the eyebrows and other areas around the eyes, the jowls and the neck. The result is a longer, rounder, older-looking face.

As the skin ages, the connective tissue in the skin also becomes thinner. The elastic fibers in the skin undergo a type of breakdown. Thus the face loses some of its elasticity. The lack of elasticity brings with it the loss of certain face-shaping supports. The face begins to wrinkle, sag and droop. Younger people may experience cheek and brow ptosis caused by weakened muscles as well For these people especially, a thread lift may be a good alternative to the more invasive procedures necessary to correct problems in older people’s faces.

Thread lifts emerged recently because many people would like a facelift but can’t afford it or don’t want the long recovery time of the standard facelift. Thread lifts cost less and require less downtime for many people, as good as a “lunchtime lift or a weekend facelift. Usually it can be performed in under one hour.

The thread lift provides an actual “lift” and is a minimally invasive procedure. It lasts for 1 to 2 years and in a milder form, matches the effect of brow lift or a lower face and neck.*

Polydioxanone (PDO), is a dissolvable suture material commonly used in other surgical treatments. This material is very safe for use as thread lift as it has a long history of being widely used safely in many surgical and medical indications and, as a material, has hardly ever caused any side effect.

Cog threads are modified for use in thread lift by creating tiny projections along the threads that act as cogs to grasp, lift and suspend a relaxed facial area. The cogs open like an umbrella to form a support structure that lifts the sagging tissue. These cogs tend to gather tissues to fill out and lift the cheeks and sagging skin. The thread grabs and holds the skin tissue. This creates tension in the thread, and the tension lifts the skin tissue. Collagen formation also occurs around the threads producing an increased effect over time. This part of the treatment is used for lifting of saggy or droopy skin.

Mono threads are short, simple, smooth thread that are placed multiply into the face in a mesh-like fashion for an overall skin tightening result. They work very well to reduce wrinkled skin by creating an overall skin tightening that comes after collagen starts forming around the threads 1 month after the treatment procedure. They complement the process of skin lifting that cog threads can give. Used on their own, they tighten the skin without significant lifting, therefore they are often used in combination with cog threads for an overall improvement in face rejuvenation and youth restoration.*
