FAQ

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

For laser removal of spider veins, other types of veins, and rosacea, treatments are done in a series of 3–6 treatments. One to 3 treatments are usually needed for isolated area, although you may see visible improvement after your very first treatment.

What is the Cost of Laser Vein Treatment?

Costs for range from $250–$550 depending on the size of the area treated per session.

Are Vascular Laser Treatments Painful?

Although the discomfort depends on the patients’ sensitivity, laser vein treatments are virtually pain free.

Is There Any Downtime?

Laser vein removal “lunchtime” procedures – it can take 30 minutes or less and you go right back to work.

How Does It Work?

When the pulsed light is absorbed by a spider vein, the light converts to heat and coagulates the vessel. Vessels may darken initially and then the body will remove the vessel over time. The light energy causes the tiny spider or other veins that cause redness of the skin to shrink and be absorbed by your body.*

Depending on the area treated, vessels may disappear immediately (face) or within a few days subsequent to the initial treatment.* The deeper, thicker vessels (spider veins) often found on the lower legs will take longer, (up to 10 weeks in some cases) to disappear completely.

For the larger vessels that need re-treating, we give the body adequate time to respond and we usually re-treat at 10 days to 2 weeks later. However, these treatments are very effective in both areas.

The intensity and area these treatments cover can be controlled by your physician. The redness from rosacea can be reduced as much as 80%.*

Rosacea Laser Treatment

Light-based laser rosacea treatment can reduce rosacea redness and “flushing” to reveal clearer, more natural-looking skin in just a few easy treatments, practically pain-free — providing a better result than topical creams.*

Light-based rosacea treatment can effectively reduce:*

  • Rash, redness, and flushing
  • Acne-like papules, pustules, and patches
  • Rosacea swelling, inflammation, and discomfort

Rosacea treatments use pulses of light to target and treat the blood vessels responsible for the chronic redness that appears on your skin. Once the vessels responsible for the rosacea are treated, the redness and rash can disappear. Best of all, rosacea treatment can provide skin tone improvement by diminishing the appearance of broken blood vessels and acne-like breakouts associated with this common skin condition.*

Oral medication and antibiotics for rosacea treatment can have systemic side effects and can take weeks to be effective. Medication-based treatments can also be dangerous for women who are pregnant or nursing. Light-based treatment for rosacea is a targeted remedy that affects only the blood vessels without harming healthy skin, so it may be a good alternative to creams and oral medications.

It also works quickly—sessions may take less than 30 minutes and you may see visible improvement after your very first treatment.*
